“Hollywood Holidays”

The Keene Pops will perform its annual holiday concert with the theme of ‘Hollywood Holidays.’ The concert will feature selections from the movies that have become standards and classics: Holiday Inn, Mame, A Christmas Carol, Home Alone, Polar Express, and Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas to name a few.  Several of the pieces being performed will feature four hands on the piano with Ted Cushing joining our own Walt Sayre as special guest accompanist. Carl Jacobs and Mike Rousseau will also be back to lend their talents on the bass and drums this year. Performances by Director Diane Cushing, Tracey Borden, Walt Sayre, and the a capella quintet Mixed Company will round out the program, and don’t be surprised if audience participation is included in this lively and entertaining afternoon!

Each year the Pops Concert serves as the unofficial start of the holiday music performance season in the Monadnock Region. We hope you will come out and enjoy! Tickets are $12 in advance at the Colonial Box Office or from Pops members, or $15 at the door.

First Singing Rehearsal

Time to start the Fall 2015 Semester! All singers are welcome. If you can sing on-key, love holiday music and would enjoy spending Monday evenings with a fun-loving group, we’ll be at St James Church every Monday (except Labor Day) 7 – 9 pm, until the concert in early December.

Orientation Night & Reception

The Pops will start up again on AUGUST 24TH  with an informal and informational evening.  Come to the back door of the church off the municipal parking area, not the sanctuary, and join us in the fellowship hall.  We will be handing out music, taking membership forms and dues and having a dessert reception to meet and greet one another.  Please feel free to bring a “goodie” to share.  We will provide paper plates and napkins.

At that time we may have a quick membership meeting to answer questions and give the membership a rundown of what will be happening in the coming semester.  We have some great news items to share and are looking for volunteers to help with a few projects.

Chili’s to host “Give Back” event to benefit the Pops

Please consider dining at Chili’s on these dates to support the Pops. Present this flyer to your server and they will donate 10% of your check!
